A Little About Us

SWIS was founded in January 2016 with the simple objective, to make children, young people and their families lives better.

SWIS are a team of passionate and dedicated support workers, who believe that all children and young people deserve equal opportunities to help them to reach their full potential. Children and young people are at the centre of all that we do, supporting them to feel confident, build on resilience but most importantly keeping safe, all while having fun and learning.

The Directors and Senior Management Team provide a wealth of experience, knowledge, and skills to achieve and maintain a high level of quality throughout the services offered.

Together, we bring a commitment and passion that is focused on ensuring children, young people and their families have every opportunity to grow, thrive and learn in safe quality assured nurturing environments.

This Is How We Do It

SWIS offer 1:1 and 2:1 personalised programs of support to meet varying needs and abilities. We ensure time is given in the approach to the different packages of support available to ensure there is the right balance of social and emotional support, intervention, and education, for each young person. Positive engagement is key, so ensuring a consistent approach, routine and achievable objectives, are of paramount importance when offering support.

We believe in experiential learning with a hands-on approach. Everyone is provided with opportunities in the community and at our Centre. This enables children and young people to become more confident, to socialise, experience success, gain self-worth and get a better understanding of emotional resilience and regulation.

We work alongside multiple SEN teams and Children’s Service Teams in various locations to provide a safe and reliable service for young people across Devon, Cornwall, Torbay and Somerset. 

SWIS thrive on having excellent working relationships with parents, carers and other care professionals which consolidates a holistic, positive network of support around each young person and their families.
